İlkay was born in 1983 in Zonguldak.

Starting his career in 2003 at the Alice BBDOadvertising agency, İlkay served as a Producer and Head of Production until2008 at the same agency. During these years, he also took place at numerousfilm festivals such as the !f Istanbul Independent Film Festival, Comedy FilmFestival, and Cinema-History Meeting as a Production Coordinator.

Beginning his directing career in 2008, İlkayhas directed over 400 films primarily for global brands such as Burger King,Coca Cola, Disney, Doritos, HSBC, ING, Nike, Reckitt, Renault, Unilever andVodafone. His projects have earned awards at festivals like Cannes Lions, Clio,Epica, Eurobest and he has been honored with the "Best Execution"award by Warner Bros.

As he celebrates his 20th year in theindustry, İlkay attributes the secrets to staying young as drinking plenty ofwater, getting enough sleep, and generating good ideas.
