İlkay was born in 1983 in Zonguldak.

Starting his career in 2003 at the Alice BBDOadvertising agency, İlkay served as a Producer and Head of Production until 2008 at the same agency. During these years, he also took place at numerous film festivals such as the !f Istanbul Independent Film Festival, Comedy Film Festival, and Cinema-History Meeting as a Production Coordinator.

Beginning his directing career in 2008, İlkay has directed over 400 films primarily for global brands such as Burger King, Coca Cola, Disney, Doritos, HSBC, ING, Nike, Reckitt, Renault, Unilever and Vodafone. His projects have earned multiple awards at renowned festivals such as Cannes Lions, Clio, Epica, and Eurobest. Additionally, he received the 'Best Execution' award from Warner Bros., further highlighting his creative excellence.

Marking his 20th year in the industry, İlkay jokingly credits his youthful energy to three simple habits: staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, and constantly brewing fresh ideas—because who needs a fountain of youth when you’ve got creativity?
